Well, today started our journey south to visit Pawpaw in Florida. Today's trip was to North Carolina to visit Aunt Sarah, Uncle Steve and Savannah. The drive included the usual dose of "when are we going to be there", but thank heaven for the DVD player as it kept the kids entertained quite a bit. We enjoyed our picnic lunch at Daniel Boone park in Charleston, WV and then stopped in Virginia to see the Shot Tower historical state park. For more than 30 years and scores of trips past this tower, I have always thought it was a part of a civil war fort or some kind. It actually is a tower used to make the shot for muzzle-loading shotguns and muskets. After arriving in at Aunt Sarah's, we all went out to eat Chinese. While we were supposed to meet another family with four Chinese kids, there was confusion as to which restaurant to meet at and thus we did not get to eat together. We did go over to their house to meet them and play for a while after a short visit to a park and some other friends of Sarah and Savannah's.
Tomorrow morning we will leave the hotel and head for south Florida!
