After Jenny planted some tomatoes and cucumber plants, the kids then pitched in and helped plant sunflower seeds and then water them.

The Show must go on

Although Cassidy's fingers were broken and in a large splint and certain hand movements were restricted, her feet were just fine as she danced her final ballet recital of the season for us.  She and the others had been working for weeks to practice the final number they did (video link at bottom) and she had some concern on whether she would be able to do it or not with her hand hurt, but she did fine and enjoyed showing what she had learned.

Soccer mom...and dad

Carter had a great time playing soccer this spring.  While it was his second year in soccer, it was his first year on a team with real games.  He grew into one of the best players on the team...especially showing his defensive prowess.  He and his teammates got along great and enjoyed all of the practices and games...regardless of the outcome.

Her Big Break

Cassidy got her big break recently...although it was not the break she was might have wanted.  While playing on the swingset in the back yard, she fell off off the rings and put her hand back to break her fall and she fell over Carter.  More than breaking her fall, she also broke both her middle and ring fingers on her right hand.  She has been doing very well with the splint and has even been able to write with her left hand for school work.  What a trooper!

Birthday Boy

Carter was very excited to be turning the Big 6!  He got to open one present Friday morning and have a cinnamon role for breakfast.  He had told us many months ago that he wanted to go to Champps for his birthday dinner since they have a magician who comes to your table to do tricks.  We went and he loved it.  We were all very impressed by the "magic".  He opened more presents Friday evening and then had his party with extended family Saturday after his soccer game.  He got lots of toys and our house looks like Christmas with toys everywhere.  He even got a brand new, bigger bike!  This Power Rangers bike was even delivered by a giant Power Ranger!
