Take me out...

to the ballgame.  While the kids have started back to school thus signifying that Autumn is not far away...we decided this past weekend to take in one last rite of Summer...a baseball game.  We took the kids down to our AAA baseball team, the Clippers...although I am not sure how much baseball the kids really saw.  With the hotdogs, popcorn, ice cream and all...the game was secondary.  We even moved around to different parts of the park and ended up in the grassy part of the outfield where the kids could see pretty well.  Carter even played a little baseball of his own on a Wii game they had there.  The weather was great and the evening was fun...whatever we did and wherever we were.

Silly Siblings

While our kids spend more than their fair share of time on the laptop, ipad, leapsters and the wii, this morning they shared some special sibling time together playing with Mr. Potatoe Head of all things.  It was so enjoyable to hear their cackles of delight as they made crazy face after crazy face on the small toy.  They were Silly Siblings and were simply...siblings.

Our Fabulous First Grader!

Yesterday was Carter's first day of Kindergarten and today was Cassidy's turn to start her school year. While Carter is at the same school he went to last year, Cassidy is starting a whole new school as she starts First Grade.  She is very excited about it and was counting down the days till the first day of school.  She was also especially excited to get to walk to school with Mom on the first day...as the back yard of our new house touches the entrance to the school.  We discovered at the meet the teacher evening that she can actually even see her bedroom window from her seat in the classroom!

Kindergarten man

After several years of "pretty school" it is time to move on to the big kid school of  kindergarten for our (not so) little man.  Today was his first day of school and he expressed many of the same concerns and comments that he did last year...that he would miss me while he was at school and that he wanted to be able to wave to me when I left.  I assured him that while I would miss him during the day too, he did need to go to school and would have more fun there and learn lots of new things.

The fact that he has the same kindergarten teacher that Cassidy had last year helps a lot since he likes and feels comfortable with her.

It should be a fun and exciting year.

Tears

While the clouds hovered and the rain threatened, the weather could not dampen the spirits of those in attendance to see Crystol and Alan celebrate their wedding day.  Although the rain held off and kept us dry, there were not many dry eyes as many cried tears of joy for what was before us and tears of sadness for what was not.  It was an amazing day that was a perfect celebration of Crystol and Alan.

Old Swing - New Site

After unassembling our swingset and having the movers bring it to our new house, Jenny's Dad and I re-assembled it in our new yard this week.  Cassidy captured our assembling it...and she and Carter playing while we did.  These are all pictures taken by Cass...

Picked a winner

While Cassidy inspects a piece of grass she picked from the new yard, she is sure she has picked a good one to peel.  She sits on a rock in front of our new house...and I am sure we picked a good one too!
