As the temps warm and the rain falls, the snow begins to melt and the green grass starts to be exposed, but evidence of the incredible amount of snow we got in January and February still remains. From the huge snow piles in my work parking lot, to the huge play hill in our front yard, the snow was very impressive, if not always welcomed by all.

Up close with Alice
Cass and I enjoyed going to the ballet last weekend, seeing Alice in wonderland. We were able to get seats right up almost at the stage, in the pit. Cass thought it was neat that we had to actually walk on a corner of the stage to get to our seats. We were so close that when Alice came off the stage to pretend to be running from the rabbit, she was just a couple feet from Cass. The fact that Alice was being played by one of Cassidy's favorite dancers in the company, made it that much more special.
On a side note, the pictures below that look like they were taken during the show, were actually taken as the crowd entered and took their seats. It was different, as they were setting the stage with the characters with the audience watching. The first one was a professional shot, and the one of the four "Alice's" was sent by the primary Alice.

Family Fun
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of our family day when we returned from China with Carter...when he and Cassidy first met, we went bowling. It was a fun adventure, with all four of us within 1 point of each other after 3 or 4 frames and it remained close throughout and was fun for all.

Book worm
Cass loves to read. She reads far more than the assigned books from school as she reads her own books each night in bed. She even loves reading books that aren't in books...as she reads a story to me from the Kindle app on the iPad.

Five fabulous years
It is hard to believe it was five years ago today that we first met our little Carter Ming. It was one of the most amazing and emotional days of our lives. As he walked towards Jenny saying "Mama", he walked into her arms and into our hearts. While Mama was one of the only words he said that first day as he took everything in, that is certainly not the case any more as he has become a strong orator.
What a fabulous little man he is, and what a fabulous five years it has been.
