2013 had its ups and downs for us. It brought me a new job at my alma mater, The Ohio State University...after years of trying. It also brought the heartache of the loss of my father.
It was quite the year and even ended with a bang as we found out that our sump pump was not working correctly in our finished basement. This caused some water damage to the walls and floor in one of the rooms. After having a plumber replace the sump pump and restoration people come and tear out the flooring, they then left fans to dry it out before they finished the repairs. All of this on New year's eve! We still managed to celebrate the new year and the kids stayed up to ring in 2014 with us.
