Year of the Snake

Happy New Year!  As we start the year the snake, we were fortunate to have a wonderful Chinese New Year celebration this past weekend with our Chinese adoption group.  There were more than 250 people there to watch the Lion Dance and children's performances like Carter breaking a board in his martial arts display.  Cassidy had one of her calligraphy pieces on display as well.
Monday we went out to eat at a nice Chinese restaurant with about 50 people from our group and saw another lion dance.
The kids also enjoyed taking in Hong Bao...or red envelopes with money inside them to school to hand out to each of their classmates.
