Saturday was the annual spring game for the Ohio State football team. While it is just a practice game of 1/2 of the team playing the other 1/2, it still draws huge crowds (over 90,000 last year and over 63,000 this year with rain in the forecast). Since neither Cassidy or Carter had ever seen the Buckeyes or visited the venerable old Horseshoe, we thought it would be a great opportunity to let them experience both...without having to pay $70 per ticket for a real game and not being able to stay for the whole thing. There was a chance of rain, but we were lucky and did not have any. We got there a little early to make sure we could find a parking spot and decent seats (since seating is not assigned for this game). As it turns out, we probably got there a little too early. We ended up watching more of the lacrosse game that preceded the football game than we did of the spring game. Football was not what either child was really interested in anyway. What they really looked forward to was the bus ride (from the parking lot), the food and the marching band. They enjoyed all three! Even though it was the spring band and not the true marching band, it still sounded pretty good and kept the kids entertained. While we left early (midway through the first half), we did see each side score a touchdown. GO BUCKS!!
