The kids were very exited that their own Elf... Elfie made his regular return to our house after thansgiving. Now the kids will enjoy looking for him each morning to see where he lands after his flight to the north pole each night. Hopefully they will be on their best behavior while he keeps an eye on them until Christmas.
While they certainly have their moments of sibling rivalry and arguments, it is moments like these that are so precious...as Cassidy reads to Carter while they sit in their robes on the chest in the loft.
This weekend was Cassidy's 8th birthday and included a lot of celebrating. The festivities kicked off with a slumber party with five of her friends spending the night. They decorated their own cupcakes and had a great time playing. Saturday was a family get together with more gifts and more cake. Cass also got to get her ears pierced and did a great job and was so proud of them. The celebration ended with her getting her own American Girl doll from the new store in Columbus. It was quite the weekend for her.
We had another good Halloween as the kids enjoyed carving their pumpkins and trick or treating in the rain. They enjoyed the costume dance at their school and of course...enjoyed their candy. I even enjoyed our costume party at my work as my department dressed as Kate plus 8.
This week was one of the evenings at Cassidy's ballet class where the parents get to watch. As always, we LOVED watching her dance. She is growing so much as a dancer and loves doing it. Since BalletMet's professional company is currently performing Swan Lake, Cassidy's class worked on a piece from it as well. Jenny and I had some relaxing time together camping without the kids. The weather was perfect and we had a great time.
Last week I attended a conference for work in Providence, Rhode Island. The conference was pretty good and the city was beautiful. There were amazing homes around the Brown University campus. The city was beautiful at night as the river was lit by all of the fire calderons. The four of us attending the conference from Ohio State even had to break out the O H I O in the photo booth.
